Asia Lab’s Signature Film Workshop Audition
Asia Film Lab’s Signature Short Film Workshop has been conducted for already three classes. We had the chance to visit the audition casting for the upcoming shooting!

The Location
The audition took place in the large auditorium of the Partners House, situated in the hot district of Itaewon! After a short ice-breaking time, the CEO and director Lee Jung-Sub introduced Asia Lab and explained what the global networking platform is aiming for. Becoming an actor is not only about talent and steadily exercises, but also about taking chances and getting a foot into the business! Everybody listened attentively!
WHO
The audition for the short film workshop was not only designed for actors (both experienced and rookies), but also for aspiring directors and producers. They participated as judges during the audition and had the chance to experience how the casting process is conducted and learned how to talk to the actors and give directions during the audition.
Show-Time!
The participants of the workshop finally had the chance to display their talents and show off the skills they had learned through-out the workshop period.
Having had the chance to attend several audition sites myself, I recognized the tension lying in the air, the pressure upon the actors and the will to give their best performances.
It is amazing how this unique atmosphere is the same, whether it is an audition for a local theater play, the casting for the role in a short film or a huge feature film production.
All the participants did a great job and fulfilled their roles 200%! You could feel that they had been trained throughout the workshop to master this situation and I likewise felt proud as an Asia Lab member!
A big applause to the students for their excellent performance and to them, who took the role of judges!👏
It was maybe the most intensive and meaningful day of the Asia Lab short Film workshop so far, as well as the first important step for the actual shooting. And hopefully many auditions are waiting for each participants in their future career!
I am looking forward to their future performances and I am curious about how they develop!
Asia Lab’s Signature Film Workshop
The Asia Film Lab Signature Workshop is scheduled to continue in 2022, and I wonder what kind of students will join Asia Film Lab the next time. We hope that many good news of our participants will reach us in the future.
